Join Jeff at one of the steelhead flyfishing world's best lodges on one of its most highly regarded rivers. The Sustut River is the most remote of all the Skeena's major tributaries — and home to the system's largest on-average steelhead. And Suskeena lodge, recently renovated under new ownership and operation, is the epitome of a rustic steelhead outpost. We'll expect chilly weather in this late season week, but we'll also expect to meet our share of big, heart-warming fish. Sustut steelhead average 14-16 pounds and fish over 25 pounds are encountered every season. Do NOT miss this one!

Suskeena Lodge
Built in the 1960’s, Suskeena Lodge was the first commercial operation on the Susut River to host steelhead anglers. Located in northern BC, roughly 100 miles North of Smithers, the lodge is inaccessible by road. The area is only accessible by fixed wing airplane flying directly into a gravel airstrip near the Sustut River or a privately chartered helicopter directly to the lodge. The flight from Smithers is approximately 45 minutes. Cabins are well furnished with wood stoves for warmth and each cabin has its own en suite bathroom with on demand hot water and flushing toilet. The main lodge is a rustic and charming log structure with ample room to relax by the fireplace, eat and socialize. All meals are served in the main lodge prepared by our lodge chef using top quality ingredients. Foods include freshly baked breads, home-made soups, various meats, local sustainably sourced fish, seasonal vegetables and decadent desserts. Select wines from BC and beyond are served with all dinners and paired according to your meal. In our opinion, Suskeena Lodge operates one of the best programs in the business!
